Wellbeing

Children are respected and viewed as capable and competent people who direct and lead their own learning.

Our Place is for Children

As advocates for children’s rights we actively work to raise community awareness and embed protective practices and child safe strategies into everything we do. Children are respected and viewed as capable and competent people who direct and lead their own learning. We believe children learn best when they feel safe, secure and supported and have meaningful relationships with others.

Our relationships with children are built on respect, trust and support.

Our Place is for Families

Families are unique and diverse with individual needs and values. We believe families are children’s first and most influential educators and caregivers. Our Place works in partnership with families to develop goals and practices that meet the needs of each individual family.

We are flexible in our approach and will go above and beyond to ensure families feel at home at Our Place.

Our Place is for Education

We deliver a learning environment that is enriched with passionate and professional educators.

We are thoughtful and intentional in our practices. We use critical reflection as a tool to understand our own teaching dispositions and strive for continuous improvement. We believe children’s enjoyment in their learning is directly linked to positive learning outcomes and a love of learning.Play based, child led, interest-based learning shapes our educational curriculum. We believe open-ended resources and learning environments pave the way for children’s innovation.

Our Place is for Communities

We embrace our local communities and view ourselves as active participants and contributors. We have a social responsibility to ensure our services meet the needs of the community and that our practices have a positive impact on the lives of those around us.We believe the education and values we teach our children directly impacts the community now and in the future.

We strive to create community connections and reciprocal relationships that shape children’s learning and teach responsibility as community citizens.

Sustainability

We believe in supporting children to appreciate and care for the environment by embedding sustainable practice into the daily operation of our Service, infrastructure and teaching. A couple of the sustainable projects at the services include our Upcycle Station that families are invited to add any materials children can repurpose for learning and our Community Library that families and the local community can swap and share their favourite books.

In order to empower our sustainability program we emphasise children’s ability to make a difference, enabling them to learn and appreciate their environment in an engaging, fun and exciting manner. We do this by engaging children in discussion about sustainable practice, encouraging them to participate in a recycling program, reducing energy and conserving water. We aim to provide children with skills and knowledge to become environmentally responsible.

Clothing

Families are requested to send their children dressed in non-restrictive and easy to wash clothes so that they feel free to join in all aspects of the program and develop independence. Please do not send children in clothing that is sentimental or expensive as they will be engaging in sensory and messy play during the day.Clothing must have sleeves and be sun safe.

We would love to hear from you
