Our Facilities

Our purpose built centres are designed around the needs of early learning development for all of our children.

Indoor Learning Environments

Our indoor learning spaces are designed to meet the educational, social and physical needs of the children who own the space. Every room uses play based curriculum and includes:

  • A relaxation space available for children to stop and calm their mind and body.
  • Literacy and numeracy materials that promote age appropriate hands-on learning opportunities to begin building foundational knowledge.
  • Natural and sensory materials that support children’s developing understanding of how the world around them works and often links into science learning.
  • Imaginative resources that support children to role play and learn about the different people and places around the world.
  • A range of loose parts and open ended collections for children to use and incorporate into imaginative play and extend intentional teaching learning experiences.
  • Learning displays that promote and share the experiences children are engaged in.
  • Dedicated areas for developing independence and learning how to care for ourselves.

Outdoor Learning Environments

Our outdoor learning spaces are designed to challenge and extend children’s fundamental movement skills, with obstacle and climbing equipment, bikes and scooters, rock climbing walls and sports equipment available to children. Children have access to a range of sensory experiences with our sandpit, water pumps, mud kitchens, garden beds, fire pits and natural learning materials.

Risky Play

Risky play is a natural part of children’s play and is defined as a thrilling and exciting activity that involves a risk; and play that provides opportunities for challenge, testing limits, exploring boundaries and learning about injury risk (Sandseter, 2007; Little & Wyver, 2008).Our Place recognises that risky play in early childhood can help develop a child’s self-confidence, resilience and can even support children to develop their risk management skills. Risky play at Our Place often looks like tree climbing, stick play, using real tools, building small fires for cooking, using real knives for cooking experiences and our educators support and role model to children how to reduce and manage the risks.

Our Local Adventures

Some of the best learning and discovery happens outside our service when we go on our local adventures to connect with our community

Some of our favourite local adventures include walks to local parks and playgrounds, tree climbing, shopping for ingredients, posting letters and collecting natural items to add to our discovery areas. During our school holiday programs children have opportunities to adventure further into our local community with planned excursions based on the children’s current interests and skills.

Our Kitchen

Our Place employs experienced chefs to create delicious and nutritious meals for children to enjoy at each service. Our menus are designed to meet your child’s recommended daily nutritional intake. Our menu will provide at least 50% of your child’s nutritional requirements each day. This includes providing formula for children under 1 year of age. We use fresh seasonal produce and source local ingredients where possible. Our Place provides all meals – breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack.

Take a tour of our facilities

We welcome new families to visit our centres and tour the rooms and playscapes. We are happy to share our daily routines, introduce you to our educators and team, and answer any of your questions.
